I still do the work
I teach.
CFO for ASX-listed and privately owned companies in Australia since 2015, and still in the seat. Author of Beingness. And someone who had to fix her own firm’s numbers first.

The CFO. I’ve worked in finance since I was 18. For seven years I was second in charge at an ASX-listed company of about 150 people, and we grew it into a group of 35 businesses. I loved that job.
Losing it. Then the board changed. I was forced out, and I resigned. I sat on the couch and drank far too much. I did myself some real damage. When that job ended, I found out just how much of me I’d tied to it.
Beingness. The book came out of that time. I wrote it during the pandemic, while I worked out who I was without the title. What I learned is the idea it’s built on: I am not a title. You choose who you are.
Still in the seat. The CFO work never stopped. I started my own firm during COVID, and I’m still a CFO today for ASX-listed and privately owned companies.
My own firm. After my first child I put a 2IC in place. It gave me time, but the files weren’t at my standard, and it cost me. The problem was me. So I went smaller on purpose: as people left I didn’t replace them, I automated, outsourced and took on fewer clients. In the 12 months to June 2026, profit went from about $150,000 to $420,000. Not revenue. Profit.
Right now I’m back in the practitioner seat. Next year, when my daughter turns one, I’ll grow again and bring in another CFO.
Why I work on both. The numbers tell you what’s happening in a business. The owner’s state usually tells you why. Business Architecture is what happens when you put the two together.
Underneath the spreadsheets is the belief my book is built on: your reality is yours to create. You are both the creator and the created.
